Bittersweet Symphony | Part 5

Passage: Judges 16:23-31

Preacher: Travis Fleming

Series:Samson

Detail:

Through Samson's life, we can see a bittersweet symphony.  At one moment, challenging and inspiring, and in the next, a bitter warning of what can happen to us if we turn from God.  Using Samson then as a template, we can see that turning back to Him requires us...

1.  Dealing with the fallout.
     Involves understanding that God will...
       A.  Only shield us for so long.
       B.  Allow us to suffer extreme consequences.
       C.  Let us look stupid.
       D.  Permit others to scoff at us.
     And our actions...
       E. Stain God's name.

2.  Getting a feel for where we are.
     Involves us...
       A.  Recognizing our situation.
       B.  Calling on the Savior.
       C.  Relying on God for strength.

3.  Living by faith.
     Involves...
       A.  Renouncing hypocrisy!
       B.  Accepting God's authority.
       C.  Trusting in God's sovereignty.
