Tonight we completed the preparation for our Christmas Bible Outreach.  We put together 5,000 gift bags that include a Bible, an invitation to celebrate Christmas with us this month and a tract outlining the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

On Saturday we will be passing these gifts out to 5,000 homes in our surrounding communities, Lord willing.

Please come join us - starting at 9:00 am at the church - also, please pray for the impact of these 5,000 Bibles!

This week we hope to give out early Christmas presents to 5,000 of our neighbors.

Tonight (Wednesday night) a group of about 75 adults and students prepared the gift bags that include a nice Bible, a presentation of the gospel and an invitation to celebrate Christ's birth with our VBC family this month. The Bible is an easy to read translation that includes helps for someone who has not read it before.

We're excited about this outreach as we suspect the Bibles will not quickly disappear - people will be hesitant to throw away a Bible and hopefully it will sit around on an end-table where someone will pick it up and begin reading it - maybe for the very first time!

What if only 1% of these Bibles are actually read by someone who hasn't read God's Word before? That would be 50 new people reading God's Word! 5% would be 250 people!

Please:

  • Pray for this outreach - that we would be able to pass them all out, that we would deliver them to the 5,000 homes that would be most open to reading God's Word... And then for the 5,000 homes who receive the Bibles - that they would pick up God's Word and begin reading it!
  • HELP - Help us pass out these gift bags on Saturday. We'll begin at the church at 9:00 am and continue through mid-afternoon.
