Team Uganda: Day 10

Posted by Lisa O'Brien on

Today we went to the Kampala care point. The students from Kayanja came to Kampala to see us, since it is far away and it would have been difficult for us to squeeze in the journey. Ten of our students and Maureen, their social worker, made the trip. Even though we struggled with a language barrier, their eyes and smiles communicated their joy and gratitude loud and clear! We enjoyed a nice lunch together, played kickball and balloon volleyball before ...they headed back home.
We were also able to meet with four of our Kampala children: an ABIDE graduate and three primary students. Linda and Sam had the opportunity to visit the homes of those three young ones. It was a sweet time getting to know their families and see where they come from.
