Paul encourages the Philippians to live godly lives: to trust God and follow his instruction so they may continue to grow in their faith and commitment. They must serve God and each other. 

  1. Paul’s instruction to the church at Philippi

  • Encouragement (verse 27)
  • Stand firm in the faith; think heavenly
  • Strive together as one in the faith; never alone
  • Fear nothing and no one (verse 28)

 2. How does standing firm in the faith look and feel?

 

 3. The “power of one.” Understanding the importance of unity and
     striving together in the faith.

 

 4. When your adversary comes “like a roaring lion.”

 

 5. Suffering has its benefits.

 

 6. Conclusion:

  • Quitting is not an option
  • We can do more together to advance the kingdom of God.
  • God specializes in the impossible
  • We have a heavenly home
