God's Plan for Your Growth

1.  God has a good plan for us, even through adversity (3-6).

2.  God has a growth plan for us, through loving discipline (7-11).
       •  Parents discipline in the flesh, but God disciplines spiritually.
       •  Parents discipline briefly, but God gives life-long discipline.
       •  Parents' discipline is imperfect, but God disciplines with perfect wisdom.

3.  God has a godliness plan for us, through Christian community (12-17).
       •  We strengthen the struggling.
       •  We foster peace.
       •  We seek holiness.
       •  We spread God's grace.
       •  We avoid bitterness.
       •  We pursue sexual purity.
       •  We value God over His gifts.
