    The Faith of Abel: Worship that Pleases God

    Introduction:  To understand the faith of Abel, we need to go back to Genesis and look at the story of Cain and Abel.

    1.  We are going to compare two different worshipers.
           ●  We were born after the fall of Adam and Eve.
           ●  We never experienced a sin-free world.
           ●  We were taught at some point how to worship
               God.
           ●  We are sinners in need of God's forgiveness.
           ●  We have come before God to worship Him.

    2.  Contrast the two worshipers
         Like Cain and Abel, our worship can...
           ●  Be self-centered or God-centered.
           ●  Speak of works or atonement.
           ●  Be rejected or accepted.
           ●  Lead to murder or to death and legacy.
         QUESTION: What kind of worshiper are you...
           ●  A Cain worshiper or an Abel worshiper?

    3.  Faith worship lifts Jesus high and draws sinners
         to the cross.
           ●  Worship is the highest function of the human
               soul.
           ●  Only as we are able to worship can we effectively
               walk with and work for God.
