We all know that parenting is hard work, but come discover on Saturday, July 25th (8:45 am - 2:30 pm) that Parenting is Heart Work. Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller - the founders of the National Center of Biblical Parenting - will come and share practical, biblical advice for your parenting in a fun and uplifting way.
If you're a parent who could use some guidance in raising your children in a God honoring way (which probably includes all parents!) then you won't want to miss this seminar! Although all children are different, a few new ideas will help you tailor solutions to meet the needs of your family. You'll leave with ideas you can put into practice right away.
The seminar is punctuated with drama in all sessions. Question and answer times provide parents with opportunities to present real problems they're facing and hear suggestions. The seminar ends by helping you fill out an Action PlanWorksheet to address specific problems you face in your family.
Light lunch is included. Concurrent children's program offered.

Children's Program:
Nursery is available for ages 0-3 and there will be a concurrent children’s program for ages 4-10 entitled Hero Training Camp that will complement what the adults will be learning. It’s fun to watch parents and children grow together.
Using drama, stories, humor and plenty of illustrations, Dr. Turansky and Mrs. Miller will help you touch the hearts of your kids. Strategies directed to the heart help children make lasting changes, but often require that parents think differently about the way they work with their kids. When parents change the way they parent, kids change the way they live. Having the right tools makes all the difference. Give your kids a gift by helping them develop a strong conscience. Children learn to be inner-motivated, doing what's right, making wrongs right, being honest, and demonstrating compassion. Of course, knowing how to parent in this way is a challenge, especially for those who've been raised on behavior modification alone.
This parenting seminar offers you hope and encouragement by helping you...
- Identify the four parts of the conscience.
- Learn how to adjust the words you say to strengthen the conscience of a child.
- Take home a script that helps your child process correction wisely and powerfully.
- Know how to approach difficult problems like defiance, lying, rebellion, and meanness.
- Teach your children to take initiative to show kindness, help out, and add energy to your family instead of draining it.
- Help your children listen to the voice of God in their own hearts.
- Work with kids ages 2-18 in ways that will prepare them for a strong future.
- Raise children who are inner-motivated and want to do what's right.

- My nine-year-old was diagnosed with ADHD. I feel so overwhelmed at times. You've given me some practical tools I know will work. I can't believe I've spent so much money on solutions elsewhere and you gave me real help in just one weekend. -Marissa Warren, Seattle, WA
- I never realized the power of the conscience. I now feel like I'm not alone. God has already placed key tools inside my child. I just need to learn how to help develop them. This is great stuff! Thank you. - Karen Lightner, Austin,TX

About National Center for Biblical Parenting
We have a vision to help parents change the way they think about parenting. The scriptures are relevant and practical for families of all types, whether they be traditional families, single parent families, or blended families. Our goal is to provide practical biblical resources, National Christian Parenting Conferences, and local Effective Parenting Support Groups to give parents new insight into how to live their lives according to God's Word.
The National Center for Biblical Parenting began in 2002 under the leadership of Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN. These two teachers and authors of the Effective Parenting ministry realized the need and opportunity to minister to families was growing rapidly. It's under the banner of the National Center for Biblical Parenting that they hope to equip churches and help families on a larger scale.
The need is great. The answers are available. We are committed to teaching families how to help their children change their hearts, not just their behavior. We hope you enjoy this web site. If you have any questions that aren't yet answered, please feel free to give us a call.
