My family and I live in Shabbona where we enjoy the rural, “country” way of life surrounded by corn fields and “big tractors.” When the weather is nice we like to go down to the state park with the whole crew (dogs included), grab some ice cream, and go for a walk around the lake.
I grew up playing basketball where I’ve compiled a list of pretty good stories and life lessons along the way. I still enjoy playing a good game of pick-up every now and then (though the next few days aren’t as enjoyable anymore). Nowadays, I’m always down for a round of golf (a hobby I swore I’d never get into) or a campfire with good friends.
Having grown up in a Christian home where we went to church regularly and growing up at a Christian school, being "Christian" was all I knew and I was pretty good at it. Then just before my junior year of high school, everything “normal” in my life changed when my family moved to rural Newark, IL and I transferred to Newark Community High School. That’s when God really got a hold of my life and I realized that being a “Christian” wasn’t just about living “right” and my whole life began to change!
After high school graduation, I attended Taylor University in Upland, IN for two years before transferring to Moody Bible Institute to finish my undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies. While I was at Moody, I started an internship here at Village Bible Church serving in Student Ministries.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Lord and His Church in various ways, now serving as both a Middle School Student Ministries pastor as well as a Campus Pastor at Village Bible Church Indian Creek in Shabbona.
