Anna: A Faithful Witness

Passage: Luke 2:36-38

Preacher: Jeremy Anderson

Series:Extraordinary Women of the Bible

Summary:

In this message from Pastor Jeremy, we explore the extraordinary story of Anna, a prophetess who devoted her life to serving God in the temple. Her tale reminds us that there's no age limit on faithful service to the Lord. Anna's dedication to prayer and fasting challenges us to examine our own spiritual disciplines. Are we seeking quick fixes, or are we willing to invest time and effort in our relationship with God? The message encourages us to find our 'why' in spiritual disciplines, understanding that discipline without direction is drudgery. As we reflect on Anna's recognition of the infant Jesus as the Messiah, we're prompted to consider our own response to Christ. Have we recognized Him as our Savior? Are we rejoicing in His coming? Are we sharing this good news with others?

Detail:

1.  Anna was recognized as someone who (vv. 36-37)...
       •  Served God.
       •  Sought God.

2.  Anna is remembered as someone who (v. 38)...
       •  Received her Savior.
       •  Rejoiced at His arrival.
       •  Revealed Him to others.
