The story of Jonah is more than a tale about a runaway prophet and a great fish but a vivid portrait of God’s relentless grace. Throughout this short book, we meet the God who pursues the rebellious, confronts the proud, and extends mercy to the undeserving. Jonah’s journey exposes our own tendencies to run from God’s call, to resent His compassion, and to misunderstand His heart for the lost. Yet through it all, we see that God is patient, purposeful, and full of second chances, not only for wayward nations like Nineveh, but for wayward hearts like ours.
