Compare and Contrast

Passage: 1 Corinthians 2:6-16

Continuing with his comparing and contrasting of those who are perishing and those who are being saved, the Apostle Paul gives us two different profiles:

Profile #1— The Worldly Person
1.  The wisdom and the rulers of this age are doomed (v. 6).
2.  The rulers of this age were duped (v. 8).
3.  The natural person is dumb (v. 14).

Profile #2 — The Wise Person
1.  Know a hidden wisdom (v. 7)
2.  Knows this hidden wisdom because of the Holy Spirit (vv. 10–13)
3.  Therefore, we have the mind of Christ and can practice spiritual
     discernment (vv. 14–16).
