Sam Copeland
Sam and Tanya Copeland live in Big Rock and have been a part of the Village family for three years. They have three children: Lydia (8), Eugene (2), and Jack (newborn). The Copelands prioritize serving as a family unit whenever possible, finding joy in volunteering together at events like the Missions Garage Sale, where each family member plays a role. Since their second Sunday at VBC, the Copelands have enjoyed participating in Troy Meeks’ Sunday morning ABF in the Hub, gleaning from the wisdom of many mature believers.
The Copelands’ love for hospitality is demonstrated by regularly hosting the Duncans’ small group, which Sam helps co-lead frequently. Additionally, Sam has contributed his time and skills to the Village Kids Check-In team for the past two years, finding fulfillment in welcoming new families to VBC and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
The Copelands hold a deep passion for supporting families and marriages, recognizing the importance of early mentorship in their own relationship. They are committed to continuing this legacy of investment in others.
They want to thank VBC for pouring into their entire family. They love serving as a family and realize this role of elder requires everyone’s support.
John Ruskamp
John and Christine Ruskamp have been valued members of our Village community for the past six years. They are proud parents to two wonderful children, Henry (6) and Levi (4). The Ruskamps express deep gratitude for the spiritual growth they have experienced through their involvement in small groups, Mom Village, Precepts studies, and the men's and women's ministries.
John has demonstrated his leadership abilities by successfully leading a new small group for the past year, following a year of apprenticeship and co-leadership. He has also dedicated his time to serving with Village Kids and VBS. Christine has actively participated in Mom Village for six years and has contributed her leadership skills to the team for the past three years. She has been involved in various areas of Village Kids, including VBS, Sunday School, and Easter Eggstravaganza.
John is honored by the opportunities for service within our Village community and feels humbled by the consideration for the position of elder. Both John and Christine deeply appreciate the love and support they have received since joining Village and eagerly anticipate the chance to serve the Village family in alignment with God's plan for them.
