What is a Huddle?
A Huddle is a small group of men who walk together as disciples of Jesus Christ. It’s more than a book study—it’s a brotherhood where men open God’s Word, apply it to real life, and encourage one another to live faithfully at home, in the church, and in the community.
Huddles are part of our bigger mission to Discover, Develop, and Deploy men for God’s kingdom:
-
Discover – helping men get connected, welcomed, and moving forward in their faith.
-
Develop – sharpening their character, gifts, and leadership through discipleship and accountability.
-
Deploy – sending men out as disciple-makers and servant leaders, living for God’s glory wherever He places them.
Why Huddles?
We believe men grow best in the context of brotherhood. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Huddles provide:
-
Brotherhood – authentic friendships where men are known, supported, and challenged.
-
Accountability – a safe place to confess struggles, reject passivity, and pursue holiness together.
-
Practical Wisdom – Scripture applied directly to the issues men face—marriage, fatherhood, work, purity, anger, and cultural pressures.
-
Discipleship – men are not just learning information, but being formed into Christlike leaders who can one day disciple others (2 Timothy 2:2).
How Do They Work?
- Groups meet regularly (weekly or bi-weekly).
-
Each Huddle studies a book or resource rooted in Scripture that speaks into the unique challenges men face today.
-
Conversations go beyond surface talk—men dig into real life, ask hard questions, and pray for one another.
-
The goal is transformation, not just information: men becoming biblically measured, morally pure, family-centered, evangelistically bold, culturally engaged, passionately committed, and prayerfully dependent.
What are the topics?
- Becoming Godly Husbands – Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs
Led by Roger Herdrich
Marriage requires more than coexisting. It requires sacrificial love and respect. This huddle will use Eggerichs’ well-known book to explore biblical principles that help husbands love like Christ and nurture healthy marriages. - Becoming Faithful and Intentional Fathers – Family Shepherds by Voddie Baucham
Led by John Moore
Fatherhood is one of the greatest callings a man can have. Baucham’s book gives practical, biblical guidance for leading your family with wisdom and grace. This huddle will encourage fathers to take an active role in shaping their children’s faith, building a Christ-centered home, and modeling godly leadership day by day. - Standing Firm Against Cultural Compromise – We Will Not Be Silenced by Erwin Lutzer
Led by Al Gonnerman
In a culture that pressures men to conform, Lutzer challenges us to stand with biblical conviction. This huddle will equip you to respond to cultural issues with courage, truth, and grace without bowing to compromise. - Rejecting Passivity and Embracing Godly Responsibility – The Titus Ten by J. Josh Smith
Led by Craig Zimmerman
Passivity erodes a man’s soul, but godly responsibility restores it. Through Smith’s practical guide, this huddle will call men to lead with courage, disciple others, and take ownership of the roles God has entrusted them. - Sexual Purity in a Sexualized World – Every Man’s Battle by Stephen Arterburn
Led by Chuck Solberg
Temptation surrounds us, but the gospel empowers purity. Using Arterburn’s well-known resource, this group will provide accountability and biblical strategies to fight lust, guard the heart, and walk in holiness. - Redeeming Work and Success – Every Good Endeavor by Tim Keller
Led by Jonathan Wentzlaff
Work is more than a paycheck. It is worship. Keller’s book gives a rich theology of work, showing how vocation and calling can glorify God and serve others, freeing us from chasing success for its own sake. - Living from Gospel Identity – You Are Not Your Own by Alfred Noble
Led by Andy Zorger
Too often men measure themselves by performance or failure. This huddle will use Noble’s book to help men root their identity in Christ, finding true freedom and confidence as beloved sons of God.
