If we want to be set straight on leadership…

 

We must follow the…

1.     Correct form of church leadership.

 This form of leadership involves men of:

  • Maturity
  • Responsibility
  • Authority

 All of these are needed for any church because:

  • Responsibility - authority = Anarchy
  • Authority - Responsibility = Tyranny

 Elders must balance:

  • Responsibility +Authority = Stability & Safety

 

We must find men who must have….

2.   A consuming call from God.

       Any man to be considered an elder must:

  • Desire to serve God as an elder.
  • Be devoted to the job description for elders.
  • Be a part of a diverse group of elders.

 

3.  A consistent character in all areas of life.

     The Bible commands all elders to be above reproach:

  • Morally
  • Domestically
  • Socially
  • Spiritually

 

 4.  Strong biblical convictions and the capability to teach others.

This involves being:

  • Established in his doctrine.
  • Able to educate others.
