Webster: The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object as well as the ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed. A.W. Pink: “A redeemed heart occupied with God, expressing itself in adoration and thanksgiving.” William Temple – (Archbishop of Canterbury 1881-1944) “For to worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God; to feed the mind with the truth of God; to purge the imagination by the beauty of God; to open the heart to the love of God; to devote the will to the purpose of God.” 2.  1.        The definition: What does worship mean?

Webster:

The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object as well as the ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed.

A.W. Pink:

If we want our worship to glorify God we must exhibit:

  • Purity 
  • Unity

4.        The duration: When is worship to be done?

Psalm 34 reminds us that worship is done:

  • Willingly
  • Continually
  • Personally
  • Corporately
