Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian

It is also a place that's filled with more life lessons than you may remember, though. Between battles, brief as those interludes are, there emerge some pretty compelling allegories, both spiritual and cultural. At the fore is the assertion that even in a world devoted to reducing stories of God's faithfulness and miraculous interventions to mere myth, we can make a choice to believe. And that choice will, quite literally, be our salvation. - pluggedinonline.com

The movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is based upon C.S. Lewis'sarticle_narnia epic book series "The Chronicles of Narnia." It’s evident that C.S. Lewis’s personal faith in Jesus Christ changed his life and it permeates much of his imagery in this series. He used his literary gifts to create the incredible mythical place called Narnia and its wonderful characters: Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, and many others. Then he merged his amazing literary gifts together with some of the themes of the Gospel that made a difference in his life.

The film is one of C. S. Lewis’s stories about the great Christ figure, King Aslan of Narnia, and takes place in a world where the supernatural isn’t talked about anymore. Narnia never touches the power of the Lion King, Aslan, because the people of Narnia try to ignore his power; they say that it’s not there and that Aslan never existed. That's a picture of our world today. People everywhere are missing the power of Jesus Christ, the true King of Kings, because they ignore the sacrifice He made for them on the cross. Yet, there are millions of people who have experienced the true power of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, as Jesus is described. It’s amazing what His power can do.

One word of caution - while I thought the movie was amazing and taught some teriffic truths, this is a war movie with plenty of battles.  They are not gruesome, at least in my estimation, as there is very little blood or gore - but there are battles and people do die.  I have heard that the movie scares some children.  My 6 year old son loved it and was not scared by the battles -- but he knew the story because we had read the book.  That probably helps.  Read more details about this at pluggedinonline.com.
