Passage: Psalms 71:1-24

Preacher: Travis Fleming

Series:Snapshots: Psalms for All Situations

Summary:

We are fortunate that the Psalms address most aspects of life. It is beautiful to see that God cares for humans, no matter the struggle. This series provides snapshots of how the Psalms address various life situations.

Detail:

Psalm 71 is about praising God in the storms of life.  How do we praise God in the storm?  We can praise God in the storm when...

1.  We acknowledge the reality of the storm.

Storms come as a result of:

  • Ungodly foes.
  • An uncertain future.
  • Unfaithful friends.
  • Our unparalleled Father.

2.  We understand the results of the storm.

  • Storms bring an understanding of our vulnerability.
  • Storms show us our need of dependency.
  • Storms reveal our urgency.

3.  We have a proper response to the storm.

   A proper response involves:

  • Remembering the character of God.
  • Reviewing the compassion of God.
  • Rejoicing in the celebration of God.
  • Renewing our consecration before God.
  • Reclaiming our confidence in our God.
