The 2020 Williams Summer Volleyball Camps are full and registration is officially closed.
Several have asked about the status of our 2020 Williams Summer Volleyball Camps. At this point our camps are still scheduled for June. Due to the possibility that they may have to be cancelled due to the social distancing guidelines, I’m changing the registration process for this summer.
Our camp numbers and format style would allow us to practice as much social distancing as possible while still letting the athletes develop their skills and have fun together! It sure helps that volleyball is not a contact sport!
If camp must be cancelled, you would promptly receive an email from me notifying you of this change. Either way, I promise to effectively communicate with you.
Hope to see your athlete(s) in June on the volleyball court! Continue to abide by the social distancing guidelines and let’s hope for these smaller gatherings to be permitted this summer!
-Coach Monica Anderson Williams
This summer Coach Monica Williams will conduct volleyball camps for students entering grades 1—9 in the fall.
About the Coach
Coach Williams played volleyball for Lisbon Grade School, Newark High School, and Wheaton College, and has since been inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at both Newark High School & Wheaton College. She has coached for 10 years at the high school varsity level, and 10 years at the middle school level. Several area high school athletes, college athletes, and volleyball coaches will serve as her assistant coaches for the Williams Summer Volleyball Camps.
Coach Williams LOVES to Teach Solid Fundamentals!
The purpose of the camp is to equip athletes with the skills needed to be successful volleyball players. Camp offers individual instruction in basic and intermediate volleyball techniques. This camp is designed for participants interested in developing and refining the skills of passing, setting, spiking, blocking, digging, and serving. Tactics and teamwork skills essential to an improved level of play will also be emphasized.
Beyond just developing skills relating to volleyball, Coach Williams’ desire is to see young athletes develop strong character qualities through competing in athletics. Coaches in Monica’s life have taught her great life lessons through sports, and she would like to pass these lessons along to others as well!
