I was born the day after Thanksgiving, 1992. My family lived in Montgomery, IL most of my childhood; and I attended Aurora Christian School for thirteen years. Both of my parents worked at ACS: my dad was an administrator and my mom was the librarian. Having grown up in a Christian home, all I have ever known is going to church and living “right.” Just before my junior year of high school everything “normal” in my life changed when my family moved to rural Newark, IL and I transferred to Newark Community High School.
Throughout school, basketball was a great passion of mine. Looking back, I realize that God gave me many great opportunities to serve him on the court and through the basketball program.
One of my most memorable experiences is of March, 2011, during my senior year, when our team won the Illinois Class A State Championship. This was truly a dream come true! I still enjoy playing a good game of pick-up now and then.
After high school graduation, I attended Taylor University in Upland, IN for two years. The Lord used those two years to stretch me and help me to grow in ways I would never have imagined. It was during this time that God called me to serve Him in church ministry. After my sophomore year at Taylor, I transferred to Moody Bible Institute to finish my undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies. I also began an internship at Village Bible Church in Student Ministry.
God has graciously allowed me to complete my Biblical Studies degree from Moody Bible Institute in 2016. My passion for student ministry continues to grow, and I love working with the students at Village Bible Church. My desire is to teach them God’s truths as He has revealed them to us in Scripture; and encourage them to live lives marked by faith in Jesus Christ as they engage culture, friends and neighbors on a daily basis.
