Passage: Psalms 71:1-24

Preacher: Tim Badal

Series:Snapshots: Psalms for All Situations

Summary:

We are fortunate that the Psalms address most aspects of life. It is beautiful to see that God cares for humans, no matter the struggle. This series provides snapshots of how the Psalms address various life situations.

Detail:

We are able to worship God:

1. When we acknowledge the reality of the storm.

Storms can come as a result of:

  • Ungodly foes. (4)
  • An uncertain future. (9)
  • Unfaithful friends. (10-13)
  • Our unparalleled Father. (19-21)

2. When we understand the result of the storm.

   Storms:

  • Remind us of our vulnerability. (7)
  • Show our need for dependency. (12a)
  • Proclaim our urgency. (12b)

3. When we have a proper response to the storm.

   This response involves:

  • Remembering the character of God. (1-3)
  • Reviewing the care of God. (4-6)
  • Rejoicing in our celebration of God. (18)
  • Renewing our commitment before God. (18)
  • Reclaiming our confidence in God.
