After chapel we met a few sponsored children at the high school in order to deliver their packages.  Shallon, sponsored by Pedro & Raquel Valdez, showed her appreciation for the gift by sending us with a beautiful hand-made basket to give her sponsors.  Enoch is sponsored by VBC as a whole, not an individual person or family.  He put his artistic skills to work to put together a thank you plaque made of natural items from the community.  (Thank you Becky VanDerVorn for writing a letter to him on behalf of the church family!)  Rebecca's face was shining with joy, replacing the depression she suffered before Chet & Patty Calhoun began sponsoring her.  We were unable to see Rainy Abbott's little Kevin, but we saw his young, tall Grandmother, and were able to pass on Rainy's letter along with some pencils donated by Weston Wagner and his friends at school.

Actually, Weston and his buddies at his Caring Kids club at school sent me with MANY pencils, pencil sharpeners, and erasers.  We have been distributing those to our sponsored children.  Thanks, Weston & friends!!!  You have brought MUCH joy to many children and increase their ability to succeed in school.  Thanks for being a blessing!
